Sherman C. Yu, MD, FACS: Dr. Sherman Yu is a committed bariatric surgeon associated with TLC surgery. He aims to restore patient health and wellness. He offers a wide spectrum of weight-loss options to his patients, which includes both non-surgical weight loss treatments and surgical intervention. Native to Houston. The Surgical Review Corporation also recognized Dr. Yu as the Center of Excellence Surgeon. The Consumer’s Research Council of America also named him one of America’s Top Surgeons. Dr. Yu completed is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Texas, Austin. He earned a medical degree from Baylor University. He also received honors in surgical rotations. He received his surgical training and pursued a residency at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver. He received the title of Chief Resident in Surgery. He also authored some research articles. He returned to Houston and completed his fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The University of Texas Health Center and then joined Dr. Scarborough to establish Texas Laparoscopic Consultants. Dr. Yu dedicated his entire medical career to weight-loss treatment and surgery, and he still performs research on obesity surgery.
Terry Scarborough: Dr. Terry Scarborough dedicated his medical career to helping patients combat obesity and live healthier lives. He is a pioneer in the field of laparoscopic surgery. He has performed several thousand laparoscopic as well as bariatric procedures. He was honored with many awards from various organizations, which includes the Consumer’s Research Council of America; he was named the Top Surgeon in America.
Native to Clovis in New Mexico, Dr. Scarborough is an honor graduate from the University of New Mexico. He also received his honors medical degree from the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine. He went to Baylor University for surgical residency and completed his laparoscopic surgery fellowship. He served as the fellowship director of laparoscopic surgery at the University of Texas, where he received an award for his exceptional performance. After completing laparoscopic gastric bypass specialty training, Dr. Scarborough and Dr. Yu established Texas Laparoscopic Consultants (TLC) in 2008.
Shailendra Suresh Mehta, MD, FACS: Dr. Shailendra Mehta is a board-certified bariatric surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. He is an expert in minimally invasive techniques. His surgical experience allows him to combine advanced techniques with dedication and care.
Dr. Mehta is a graduate of the Summa Cum Laude, Texas Tech University, in chemistry. He received a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Medical School, Houston McGovern Medical School. He did an internship and a residency program at the Staten Island University Hospital, New York. During his years of training, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Surgical Intern of the Year prize and two distinguished Resident Research Awards. He also did his research fellowship at the Children’s Mercy Hospital, Missouri, and Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Methodist Hospital, Houston.
