Overview
The Doctors Weight Loss Center of Cary is a physician supervised weight loss center. As a weight loss centre, they are a medical weight loss facility with the purpose to provide an individualised evidence-based approach to weight management for their patients based on their individual metabolism, lifestyle and medical history. They provide medically supervised weight loss and therefore provide a more medically oriented approach than many other commercial weight loss centres and medi-spas.
Medical Director
Dr. Jennifer Schmidt is Board Certified in Obesity Medicine and a Physician with over 20 years of experience treating patients in Cary, NC. Physicians practising obesity medicine must have experience leading a medical weight management programme and must have a science-based approach to medical weight management and obesity treatment.
Dr. Schmidt works with all of her patients to create an individualised programme for them based upon the results of a metabolic assessment and testing for body composition as well as prescribing medications that are monitored by her as the treating physician.
GLP-1 and Medical Weight Loss Programs
At the Doctors Weight Loss Center of Cary, we provide a doctor’s supervised weight loss program utilizing Semaglutide and Tirzepatide GLP-1 treatments that can address appetite suppression, blood sugar control, and help to maintain the weight loss long term through weekly injections. Patients will have a comprehensive evaluation which may include bloodwork, EKG, metabolic rate, and body composition analysis as part of the pre-treatment process.
We also utilize FDA approved appetite suppressants such as Phentermine in conjunction with the GLP-1 medications as appropriate. Each program is tailored to meet the individual’s metabolic profile and may include nutritional education, behavioral counseling, and continued monitoring to ensure a safe and effective progression toward achieving their goals.
Weight Loss Program Pricing
At the Doctors Weight Loss Center of Cary, we promote a transparent pricing model with no long-term contracts required for treatment. We offer free consultations to new patients allowing them to meet the physician and discuss whether or not they qualify for treatment prior to committing to a weight loss program. The specifics of pricing for Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and prescription-based medications are not available on the website due to individual variability based on the patient’s treatment plan and dosage; therefore the costs associated with each are determined after the patient has completed the preliminary evaluation and has been accepted to begin an individualized treatment plan based on their proposed treatment regimen.

Many patients also rank the fact that the clinic offers a medically supervised program, without the high-pressure sales tactics featured with commercial weight loss programs.
