Reviews: What People Are Saying About Calibrate GLP
Here’s what real people say about Calibrate GLP:
- Customer service: Some people note that there are delays in the onboarding process. That’s partly due to the required counseling and blood work.
- Structure: The one-on-one coaching is important. It gives you access to information.
- Costs: The program is significantly more expensive if you are seeking compound medications without insurance. Some say it is hard to stop using it.
How Calibrate GLP Works
- You’ll start with verification of eligibility. That starts with downloading an app. You need to upload some health information.
- You’ll then have a 1:1 coaching session. Blood work at a lab near you is also necessary.
- After your blood work comes in, you’ll meet with your clinician to go over your options.
The Details
The Prior Authorization (PA) Persistence Score
PAs can be frustrating. Some companies won’t try to help you get an approval if you’re denied once. Calibrate will help with getting a PA when needed. They will submit requests. AND, what’s most important, they will work through denials. They don’t say how many times they will fight for you to get approval. But if you are denied, they will try again.
Sourcing Transparency: 503A vs 503B Pharmacy Labs
Knowing who is producing your medication is a must. Some companies don’t share critical data. Calibrate GLP shares some of that information. The master compounding pharmacies they align with include:
- Empower Pharmacy
- Hallandale Pharmacy
- Olympia Pharmacy
- Revive Pharmacy and BPI Labs
- Greenwich
The company only uses 503A pharmacies. These are the companies they turn to for compounded medications.
Cold-Chain Logistics Data
All GLP-1s need proper refrigeration. If they don’t show up cool, that means they may be degraded. It’s critical that your medication remains chilled throughout the entire logistics process. Calibrate doesn’t share all of its initial logistics processes.
The company will ship directly to your home. That’s done in Styrofoam containers with gel packs or phase change materials. This keeps them cold during the entire transport process. The medication should be cool on arrival, even if the gel packs melt.
The Titration Support vs Auto-Ship Model
Another critical factor in choosing a telehealth provider is what happens after the first month. Some companies automatically bump you up a dose. That sounds good, but if you don’t need it yet, it can be costly. It can also lead to serious limitations. You don’t always want that auto ship model.
You’ll be on the low dose for about four weeks. Calibrate does want you to increase your dosage. However, they don’t automatically boost your dose. They want to make sure you’re ready for the maximum dose instead. Individual pacing makes a huge difference.
Non-Responder Protocols
Unfortunately, about 15% of people don’t get results from semaglutide upfront. That’s heartbreaking. Some telehealth companies just keep you going on the same product even without early results. That’s not ideal. Calibrate has a switching protocol. If you’re not seeing results, your clinician will switch you to another GLP-1 to try again. They typically move from semaglutide to Trizapatide.
