Joel Wellness Clinic provides its patients with a holistic approach to weight loss and meeting their primary healthcare needs. The clinic offers patients aged 15 and up services in obesity medicine, lipedema care, and general primary care. Joel Wellness Clinic is owned/operated by Binju Joel, MD, FOMA, Diplomate-American Board of Obesity Medicine, who is board certified in obesity medicine and internal medicine and a Fellow of the Obesity Medicine Association. Dr. Joel has two decades of experience in the clinical practice of medicine; she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and preliminary surgery at the St. Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is an expert in treating patients with lipedema because she has been actively researching and developing new methods to treat this condition, as well as being involved in global mission work. 

GLP-1 and Medical Weight Loss Programs

The Joel Wellness Clinic offers medically supervised weight-loss programs, designed to be tailored to each patient based on their health, lifestyle, and weight-loss goals. All weight-loss programs begin with an extensive initial consultation, where an InBody scan (body composition analysis), lab tests, and a nutrition and exercise plan will be developed to specifically meet the needs of the patient. The medical provider may prescribe a variety of medications to assist the patient in their weight-loss process. Medications in this class are known as GLP-1 and may include semaglutide and tirzepatide, as well as other prescriptions, dietary supplements, and/or hormonal therapies (if indicated), depending on clinical appropriateness.
