Medical Director

The physicians who lead the clinic are highly trained and experienced in the field of obesity medicine. They include Dr. Rohit Suri, M.D., and Dr. Seema Chaudhary, M.D., who are both board-certified in obesity medicine and family medicine. With close to 2 decades of clinical experience, the physicians believe that treating obesity is an ongoing, full-time commitment to developing an individualized treatment plan for every patient.

To assist the patients in achieving a safe and effective weight-loss experience, our clinic uses a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of obesity, which includes a combination of nutritional counseling, behavioral therapy, laboratory testing, and physician-approved medical interventions. Further, all treatments are delivered in a physician-directed, supervised manner.

GLP-1 and Medical Weight Loss Programs

The Nova Physician Wellness Center provides a medically supervised program to assist with weight loss, including the use of meditations such as semaglutide and tirzepatide that are classified as GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) agonists.  These medications help to reduce appetite, slow food digestion, and enhance insulin response to food so that you will feel full longer after eating and eat fewer total calories daily.  GLP-1 therapy is often recommended for people who have attempted to lose weight by dieting and exercising but have been unsuccessful.

At the Nova Physician Wellness Center, the medical programs for weight loss start by performing an extensive metabolic workup involving blood testing and cardiovascular assessments as well as advanced methods for analysis of body composition (use of bioelectrical impedance), including the use of the InBody Body Composition Analyzer.  The results from the metabolic workup enable the doctors at the Nova Physician Wellness Center to determine how much of your body’s total weight is fat (body fat percentage), lean body mass (muscle), and your metabolic rate (basal metabolic rate or BMR).  This information will help the physician develop a customized treatment plan for you.

Weight Loss Program Pricing

The Nova Physician Wellness Center does not have fixed price listings for GLP-1 medications on its website. Individualized costs will be based on individual medication type, dosage, and prescribed treatment plans.  However, the clinic does accept many different insurance plans, including Medicare; therefore some patients may have reduced out-of-pocket expense for GLP-1 medications, based on their insurance’s coverage.
