Dr. Cheregi, MD is a board-certified general surgeon with a specialty in bariatric surgery. He has more than 13 years of surgical experience. Apart from general surgery, he is skilled in Bariatric surgery through Robotic and Minimally Invasive techniques, and Foregut Surgery (Hiatal Hernia Repair, Esophageal Hernia Repair, and Treatment for Severe Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).

Dr. John Cheregi graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Thereafter, he did his asters of Science in Medical Imaging Sciences from the Finch University of Health. For his Medical Degree, He completed his Surgical Residency from the University Of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals. He did his Fellowship Training in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery from the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
