He got his education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and then carried out an array of residencies and fellowships focusing on plastic and reconstructions. Dr. Yalif is the founder of Y Plastic Surgery and he contributed to several peer-reviewed scientific literature. His memberships include American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
