Sunil Bhoyrul
Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul is the Medical Director for Bariatric Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital and the Chief of Surgery at Olde Del Mar Surgical. One of San Diego’s top general and bariatric surgery specialists, he is also well regarded by patients and professionals alike.
Dr. Bhoyrul attended the University of Aberdeen in Scotland for his undergraduate and medical degrees. In 1993, he graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of England and began his surgical training in London. He completed his surgical residency at Stanford University Medical Centre after completing a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Pascal Bortz
Laparoscopic, robotic, and bariatric surgery are among Dr. Bortz’s areas of expertise. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology before attending Saba University School of Medicine for medical school.
He did his residency in general surgery at UC Riverside Health Systems in California after completing his internship at Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York. While at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn he completed his Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Robotic fellowship where he performed an extensive volume of colorectal, bariatric, hernia and surgical oncology cases.
