The GLP-1 telehealth space has a major problem when it comes to providers pretending to be what they are not.
The primary function of Henry Meds is to provide an affordable, no-frills, and medication-forward service for compounded GLP-1.
Henry Meds does NOT offer to help clients with their overall weight loss coaching programs. It also does NOT have the intention of changing one’s lifestyle or revolutionizing one’s metabolic health.
It simply provides its patients with the quickest access possible to medication at a fair price; then basically allows them to do whatever they want from there.
What Is Henry Meds and How Does It Work?
Henry Meds provides a unique approach to managing your weight by using telehealth (a doctor/patient conversation over the phone/video) as well as providing you with GLP-1 medications that are compounded specifically for weight loss.
All communication occurs via a digital patient portal and not an application. There’s also no mobile app, no nutrition tracker, and no lifestyle curriculum.
A licensed healthcare professional, a valid prescription, and monthly medication shipments are what patients can expect from Henry Meds.
Here’s how the process works. Firstly, patients will fill in an online questionnaire about their health status, the medicines they currently take, how much they weigh, and their goals. After completing the questionnaire, patients’ information is reviewed by a team member at Henry Meds prior to being scheduled for a telehealth appointment with one of their physicians or nurse practitioners.
Telehealth appointments are usually completed within 5 to 7 working days from when patients signed up for services.
GLP-1 Product Offerings
Henry Meds really gets its due here. The format options of medications are greater than virtually all other similar competitors.
The majority of cash pay compounded GLP-1 providers will only offer the injectable form of Semaglutide and stop there. Henry Meds will compound Semaglutide in an injectable form as a weekly injection, in an oral drop solution, and/or in a dissolvable tablet.
Oral dissolvable tablets are available for Tirzepatide (which is a true competitive advantage for patients that have aversion to needles).
Liraglutide, the older once daily injectable GLP-1, completes the list for those with clinical indications that prevent them from using either Semaglutide or Tirzepatide.
However, Henry Meds does not prescribe brand name GLP-1 products. That means no Ozempic, no Wegovy, and no Zepbound. Only compounding.
Medication Summary
Injected compounded semaglutide replaces the common weekly injection that most individuals envision as GLP-1. Oral semaglutide has both tablet (dissolvable) and capsule (droplet) forms which offer alternatives to needle-phobic patients.
However, in addition to this, it is also definitely important to note that there is less evidence from clinical trials showing oral GLP-1 drugs to be equivalent to injected versions. The use of compounded tirzepatide tablets for patients who wish to activate the dual receptors of GLP-1 and GIP but do not desire to inject provide an additional option.
Finally, compounded liraglutide offers another option for any patients who may have specific reasons for not taking one or more of the primary compounds.
Pricing: Honest Numbers
Henry Meds offers a multi-tiered pricing model in which prices will rise with higher dosage levels, making it different from the flat rate pricing of competing companies such as Eden or Enhance MD.
Injectable semaglutide will cost you about $149-$179 per month for the first few months (lower dosage), and after that will be a bit more. Oral semaglutide is priced slightly less, starting at about $99/month. Tirzepatide oral tablets are a lot more expensive, costing approximately $349 per month when purchased on a month-to-month basis.
However, if you purchase them using an annual payment plan, the monthly price drops to approximately $234. Phentermines, non GLP-1 medications, also have varying prices; the least expensive option is $149.
Pharmacy Sourcing: The Transparency Gap
The main trouble for Henry Meds here is its lack of transparency on which pharmacies it works with (licensed compounding pharmacies under 503A and/or third party outsourcing facilities) as confirmed via Henry Meds’ own responses to Trustpilot.
Additionally, although there are some reviews by third parties naming some of the pharmacies Henry Meds may work with (such as Hallandale Pharmacy and Hephaestus Pharmaceuticals), Henry Meds does not appear to have a publicly accessible pharmacy disclosure.
There was an especially concerning review posted to Consumer Affairs in January 2026 about a customer that received a bulk order from another pharmacy then had their initial shipment of a product filled at a different pharmacy without notice of the switch. The reviewer stated they noticed the second batch “worked” completely differently than the first.
Cold-Chain Shipping: Standard but Not Exceptional
Henry Meds uses standard shipping methods and includes insulation for their packages. The delivery time frame from when you receive your script approval will take anywhere from 7-10 business days.
There isn’t a publically available document showing Henry Meds has a guaranteed temperature-controlled transit window (i.e., at least one hour). It appears Henry Meds doesn’t utilize medical grade cold chain packaging products such as Temp-Smart or similar type systems.
Patient reviews on TrustPilot show patients received medications in good condition. However, as noted above, there is a very real legitimate concern regarding deliveries made during peak temperatures in warm climate areas; it would be reasonable to have this discussed prior to refilling with your provider.
Titration: The Price-Increase Problem
Henry Meds offers the opportunity to adjust titration and discuss dosage with the physician during follow-up appointments scheduled either in 60 days or 90 days.
The platform’s pricing structure, however, means that increasing the dose of semaglutide (i.e., from a starter to a maintenance dose) causes an increase in each individual’s monthly cost.
Henry Meds has not published data demonstrating they force patients to move into a higher dose level of medication as part of a fixed time period based solely on the results. In other words, the clinical design of the system is truly provider directed.
However, the fact remains that staying on a low effective dose of semaglutide is less expensive for the patient than taking the medication at a higher dose; therefore, there exists a financial incentive to avoid dose escalation. This is also in contrast to the “auto-ship” trap where the financial incentive may cause a patient to continue taking their prescribed medications at an increased frequency to save money.
Off-Ramp and Non-Responder Protocols
Henry Meds has no official tapering plan. There is no separate “maintenance only” membership program for members who have reached their target weight. The monthly subscription may be cancelled at any time with the ability of the member to cancel anytime without incurring a penalty.
Members who do not respond to Semaglutide will be able to transition to the Tirzepatide pathway on the same platform. This can be initiated by discussion with a provider during any scheduled follow up appointment.
Prior Authorization: Not Applicable
Henry Meds is a cash-pay platform that does not accept insurance for GLP-1 prescriptions.
There is no prior authorization process, no insurance navigation, and no appeals workflow. HSA and FSA payments, however, are accepted.
What People Are Actually Saying
On TrustPilot, HenryMeds currently earns a score of 4.5 / 5 with over 12,000 reviews.
Many of the most consistently positive comments about Henry Meds are centered on several common themes including affordable price points; responsive customer support; very quick turnaround time from sending an e-mail and receiving a reply; the ability to cancel if they do not like something (as long as they intend to actually cancel); and meaningful weight loss.
Many of the reviewers comment with respect to the specific provider or nurse practitioner that provided them the level of care and attention they needed and appreciated.
The majority of negative reviews fall into one of three categories. First, many of the patients reported experiencing what appeared to be variations in potency between deliveries. While this does not appear to be related to a lack of quality control at the pharmacy itself, the fact that patients report seeing these differences is certainly concerning.
Second, many of the customers were confused by how their billing was being handled in relation to multiple tiered subscription options. Third, there has been a recurring theme among patients who purchased extended subscriptions for an extended period of time and then felt “locked-in” when they did not achieve the expected results.
The Honest Summary
In short, Henry Meds has a direct approach to providing access to cost-effective compounded GLP-1 therapies. The company provides an entry point for patients who cannot afford to navigate insurance options or coaching programs.
Furthermore, their pricing is highly competitive; there is real access to providers, and the amount of positive reviews by actual patients reflect a company that functions well for a wide array of consumers.
There are also some disadvantages of using Henry Meds. There is no doubt that their pricing model (which increases as the dose increases) requires greater planning than the flat rate alternative models. In addition, the lack of structured clinical guidelines regarding non-responding patients and pharmacies switching, causes a degree of ambiguity that other platforms have been able to address more clearly.
However, for patients who are seeking to obtain affordable access to compounded GLP-1’s, and who also understand they are purchasing a medication service versus a complete program and take care when selecting which pharmacy can fulfill their prescriptions, Henry Meds is a valid and at times outstanding option.
