Body by Barker provides medical weight loss and wellness services (both telehealth & in-person) in Pennsylvania. Body by Barker’s objective is to understand the root causes of each individual’s obesity (i.e., hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysfunction & lifestyle changes) prior to creating an individualized plan for weight loss. Once the cause has been identified, a series of tests may be utilized to help develop a customized treatment plan specific to each patient’s needs. Beyond weight loss, Body by Barker provides hormone replacement therapy, intravenous (IV) therapy, and wellness optimization to help achieve their desired outcome (i.e., sustainable weight loss). Body by Barker also has a physician-led approach to care in which patient success is achieved through physician follow-up (monitoring) of the patients’ progress; and individualized support during and after completion of the program.

Medical Director

The medical oversight at Body by Barker is provided by Brittany Barker Booth DO. Dr. Barker Booth is an Osteopathic Doctor (DO) who practices with a holistic and patient-centered approach to healthcare. She has a background in treating the entire person vs. just treating the symptoms (utilizing a focus on metabolic health; hormone balance & sustainable weight loss). Dr. Barker Booth supervises all of the medical weight loss programs; evaluates patients for eligibility; prescribes GLP-1 medications; and monitors patient progress to ensure that this patient will achieve success in their weight loss attempts via medically supervised means; and continue to achieve the same through the lifetime of the individual.

GLP-1 and Medical Weight Loss Programs

Doctor-directed weight loss at Body by Barker has been proven successful through the use of GLP-1 medications (semaglutide and tirzepatide) as well as newer GLP-1 medications (when appropriate, i.e., retatrutide). These medications work by regulating hunger and appetite, reducing cravings, and enhancing metabolic health. The patient can decide to have either a weight loss-only consultation or a more comprehensive program that includes lab tests for things like hypothyroidism and insulin resistance.

Body by Barker’s website does not provide fixed pricing for GLP-1 medications or the entire weight loss program. Prices will vary according to the specific treatment plan, GLP-1 medication used, and type/level of care provided. Patients will receive an exact priced breakdown for GLP-1 medications and the entire weight loss program at the time of consultation after medical evaluations and any required lab test.
