
Dr. Sosa began his career in general surgery with a special interest in treating heartburn and acid reflux. In 2001, he shifted his focus to bariatric surgery, performing his first gastric bypass in March of that year. Since then, he has performed over 10,000 weight loss procedures, earning recognition as a leading expert in the field. Dr. Sosa is also a published author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters in both general and laparoscopic surgery. His work has appeared in respected journals including the Journal of Laparoendoscopic Surgery and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
