About Dr. David Andres Provost

Dr. David Andres Provost is a board-certified general surgeon with more than 34 years of total experience and about 21 years of experience in bariatric treatments. Dr. Provost performed his first laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in 1999. He also provides surgeon education and training in adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic gastric bypass, revision surgeries, and complications. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and did his surgical critical care fellowship at M Health Fairview.

Dr. Provost did his residency in general surgery at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas. He has served on multiple committees of the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has also served as the Secretary of the Texas Chapter of the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Provost has also been the president of the Foundation board of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Currently, he is a member of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and also co-chair of the Verifications and Standards Committee in the national accreditation of bariatric centers. Dr. Provost is affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple and Temple Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
