Treatments offered at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center

Sleeve Gastrectomy

By performing this laparoscopic surgery, almost 15% of the stomach is reduced by its size. Overall, sleeve gastrectomy can reduce your weight from 25 to 30%. Basically, the stomach is made smaller in size by using surgical staples. As the size of the stomach is made smaller, it holds less food thus the person feels less hungry. This is a very safe surgery and has no potential health complications and the surgeons at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center have a record of successfully completing hundreds of these surgeries.

Roux –en-Y Gastric Bypass

Popularly known as gastric bypass, Roux-en-Y is the most common way of treating obesity and related diseases. In gastric bypass, the stomach is divided into two parts in which the smaller part of the stomach is of the size of an egg, and the larger part of the stomach is bypassed and doesn’t store or digest food after the surgery.

Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS)

Dr. Kappus and Dr. Rana specialize in Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch. The procedure is somewhat similar to gastric bypass in which a tube-like stomach pouch is created and the first portion of the small intestine is separated from the stomach and a part of it is connected to the newly created stomach. The result of this treatment leads to a decrease in the absorption of calories.

Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy (SADI-S)

While SADI-S is almost similar to BPD/DS, it is simpler and is done in less time. It is a very effective procedure for long-term weight loss. Same as in sleeve gastrectomy, a tube-shaped stomach is created in the SADI-S procedure.

At Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, the board-certified surgeons and healthcare providers perform a thorough nutritional evaluation and physical examination of the candidate. Also, along with routine tests, they work upon the psychological and emotional needs of the patient. Furthermore, the team also guides you to decide the type of surgery required for your body.

Costs

Midsouth Bariatrics offers price transparency to offer the price for the gastric sleeve at $2,456, and the gastric bypass at $3,229.20. If you want to learn more about their price click here. Upon reading further this look
