Darrell Doucette, MD, FACS, and FASMBS: Dr. Darrell Doucette is one of the most prestigious general and bariatric surgeons in Alabama. In 2014, he joined the Alabama Surgical Associates. He performs all types of primary as well as revisional bariatric surgery procedures like gastric sleeve, gastric band, duodenal switch, and gastric bypass. He is an experienced surgeon in minimally invasive procedures like laparoscopic surgery, robotic anti-reflux procedure, solid organ technique, and hernia repair.
Dr. Doucette went to the University of Massachusetts medical school where he completed a residency in General Surgery and Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship. He is a Board Certified Bariatric Endoscopist, which demonstrates knowledge as well as technical skills using endoscopy for methods like an endoscopic sleeve, gastric balloon, endoscopic revisional surgery, and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty.
He is also affiliated with the Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville Hospital, and Madison Hospital. Dr. Doucette is also a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery or ASMBS, and the American College of Surgeons.
K. Todd Foreman, MD, FACS, FASMBS: Dr. Foremon is a recognized board-certified general and bariatric surgeon. He performs both primary as well as revisional bariatric procedures like gastric sleeve, gastric banding, duodenal switch, and gastric bypass. He is also experienced in minimally invasive surgeries like hernia repair, anti-reflux procedures, and laparoscopic surgeries.
Raised in St. Louis, Dr. Foreman also served as a US Army flight surgeon and medical officer. He did his residency program at the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, and joined the Alabama Surgical Associates, Huntsville, AL.
Currently, he is a staff at the Huntsville Hospital where he is appointed as the Chief of the Medical Staff at the Crestwood Medical Center. He also earned certification from the American Board of Surgery and a diplomate from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He did his fellowship program at the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is one of the founder members and the President of the ASMBS Alabama Chapter.
Carolyn Elenich, RDN, and LD: Carolyn Elenich is the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at the Alabama Surgical Associates. She is a Michigan State University graduate. She is a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She also holds other certificates in adult weight loss and weight management. She is an underwriting author of professional reference textbooks with more than 15 years of experience as a dietitian.
Macey Sexton, MS, RDN, and LD: A recognized Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at the Alabama Surgical Associates, Maecy Sexton has several years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master of Science degree in Dietetics from the Alabama A & M University. She teaches and guides patients on their weight loss sojourn to help them achieve their goals.
